China Unicom plan to spend billions on 3 G network in two years

August 14 news, China Unicom said this Wednesday, the company plans to spend 100 billion yuan (about 14.58 billion U.S. dollars) in building China's 3 G wireless network in the next two years.
According to foreign media reports, this was announced after the trade were more shocked, China Unicom in Hong Kong Stock Exchange shares also will be dropped sharply.
Some analysts believe that China Unicom that the implementation of the plan means that the next two years it will face enormous amount of depreciation expenses, which the company is bound to have an impact on net income.
Close to Wednesday, China Unicom stock fell 4.3 percent, to close at 14.80 Hong Kong dollar (about 1.9 U.S. dollars). So far, China Unicom stock in the past three months has dropped 11.6 percent.
Analysts believe that Qualcomm and ZTE will become China Unicom to deploy 3 G network at the core providers.
After the merger of China Unicom and China Netcom, the company will receive an 3 G licences.
